Miss GEICO Teams Up With Orange County Choppers

Thanks to a collaboration between the Miss GEICO offshore racing team and the famed Orange Country Choppers shop, fans of offshore powerboat racing and exotic custom motorcycles will have a chance to get a close look at both together at the upcoming Super Boat International Sarasota (Fla.) Grand Prix Festival July 3-6. According to a press release from the team, Miss GEICO’s throttleman Scott Begovich, a longtime chopper enthusiast, met Orange County Choppers’ Paul Teutul., Sr., during the recent Palm International Boat Show. That meeting led to agreement that will see both groups showcasing their hardware together at three offshore races, starting with the Sarasota event, and a poker run this season.

“It’s a unique opportunity to put together the finest offshore race team and best bike builders in the business,” said Begovich in the press release post on his Facebook page.

Teutul was equally enthusiastic about the collaboration. “Boats and choppers go together great,” he said. “We believe the lifestyle that the boat world offers is very similar to the chopper lifestyle. We build a high end amazing product and want our brand to be recognized throughout all industries.”

In addition to the Sarasota race, future planned events for the new offshore racing/chopper “team” include the Pirates of Lanier Poker Run on Georgia’s Lake Lanier July 17-20, the SBI National Championships September 26-28, 2014 and the SBI Key West
Offshore Racing Championships World Championships November 3-9.
