MTI Announces New 50-Foot Center Console

During opening day of the Miami International Boat Show this afternoon, the team at Marine Technology Inc., in Wentzville, Mo., announced a new model that is in the works and set to make its debut at the 2021 Miami International Boat Show—a new 50-foot luxury performance center console.

From the MTI booth at the end of the docks in front of Miami Marine Stadium, MTI founder Randy Scism made it known that the company is working on the model that sits right between its popular MTI-V 42 model and its massive 57-foot model.

“We think the new 50 is going to fit our customer profile very well,” Scism said while surrounded by seven MTI models from 34-, 39- and 48-foot catamarans as well as new 42-foot center consoles and a radical 57-footer powered by five Mercury Racing 450R engines. “We’re moving forward rapidly on the tooling and the molds, and are very excited to showcase the new model early next year.”

According to Scism, the boat is going to be 50 feet long with a 12-foot beam and weigh roughly 18,000 pounds. He said the new center console, which has a 550-gallon fuel capacity and is going to be available with four or five outboard engines, was designed with more space ahead of the console and extra space in the rear—behind the entertainment/bar area—than the company’s 42-footer and with the same expansive cabin of the 57-footer.

As with every new model MTI produces, Scism is excited about the new build—as are many of his loyal MTI customers.
