MTI Gearing Up for Busy Week at Lake of the Ozarks Shootout

Fresh off a trip to the Emerald Coast Poker Run in Destin, Fla., the crew at Marine Technology Inc., in Wentzville, Mo., is preparing for a huge week that begins tomorrow evening with the Shootout on the Strip presented by Waves and Wheels.

According to Tim Gallagher, the company’s sales and marketing manager, MTI will have 14 boats on display at the meet-and-greet event on the Bagnell Dam Strip in Lake Ozark, Mo., including a brand new 48-foot catamaran with twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines and the debut of the delivered-this-week canopied 52-footer owned by Rusty Rahm of MTI’s newest dealer, Wake Effects in Osage Beach, Mo. Gallagher said the boat features MTI’s first removable or “environmental” canopy that was requested by Rahm. (Look for a story soon from yesterday’s test session on speedonthewater.com).

“I’d be surprised if any other boat builder has as much representation from its owners as MTI is going to have,” Gallagher said. “We will have some new boats there and some late-model ones, a few of which are for sale. We’ll also have a tent set up for people to get their favorite MTI apparel.”

On Thursday, which is normally a down day before Friday’s Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Poker Run, MTI is organizing a gathering for its owners that will feature a couple of destinations on the lake and conclude with a get together at the waterfront home of one of the company’s most prominent customers.

Sure to catch a lot of attention this week, MTI’s new 52-foot cat with twin Mercury Racing 1350s features a removable hardtop.

“We like to plan events that keep our MTI owners boating together,” said Gallagher, adding that customers are encouraged to send him an e-mail for further details. “We have an amazing group of owners and they all have a great time running together.”

Of course MTI will be well represented in the poker run on Friday as well as the dockside party that follows at Dog Days in Osage Beach. Gallagher said they have several slips reserved for its customers at the party, which is one of his favorite parts of the Shootout.

And on Saturday and Sunday MTI will have the entire end dock at Captain Ron’s booked with several of the company’s latest high-performance catamarans and luxury center consoles, many of which will be competing along the one-mile Shootout course.

Gallagher is especially excited to showcase several new MTI models that the company has delivered recently. “The new boats are certainly worth a closer look,” Gallagher said. “Fortunately the public will have several opportunities to see them this year.
