MTI’s SV42 Center Console Undergoes Validation Testing
There’s not a lot of news to report, but speedonthewater.com did receive this “top-secret” photo of Marine Technology Inc. (MTI) testing its new center-console, the SV42, on Thursday. Rigged with triple Mercury Verado 300 outboards, MTI owner Randy Scism confirmed that the prototype 42-footer has started to undergo validation testing.
Scism, who founded the Wentzville, Mo., company more than a decade ago, said that the initial testing is going great. Utilizing the first hull pulled from the mold—the deck and console are temporary—MTI is expecting to validate the hull design of its first V-bottom.
The company also plans to test the hull with twin and quad Mercury 300-hp outboards with a goal of having the new SV42 ready for the water this fall. You can be sure speedonthewater.com will keep up to date on the latest news from MTI.
