Mystic C4400 Cat and M3900 Center Console: First Looks From Miami
Five years ago, Mystic Powerboats founder John Cosker gazed at Arizona’s Lake Havasu during the Desert Storm Poker Run and discussed plans for a smaller Mystic catamaran. “I actually have drawings for a 42 and, you know, if I get a few orders for it I’ll build it,” he said.

This morning at the Miami International Boat Show, the vision officially became reality with the introduction of the C4400 catamaran. Yes, the cat grew a couple of feet from rendering to hull No. 1—they tend to do that. But Cosker’s much-awaited 44-footer is a stunner and for four buyers so far, were worth the wait.
With the catamaran project underway last year and consuming most of his time, Cosker met with Pier 57 Marine’s Scott Sjogren at the 2014 Miami International Boat Show. Cosker and Sjogren struck an instant rapport, and in chatting about the state of the performance-boat market they began tossing around ideas on what a Mystic center console might look like. Cosker had ideas. Sjogren had ideas. They decided to tackle a luxury performance center console from Mystic together.

Ambitious by nature, they set the release date for both models for the opening day of the 2015 Miami International Boat Show. As you can see from the images in this article, both the C4400 catamaran and M3900 center console made it in time (though a bit of last-minute detail was required after they moved the models into the show yesterday).
As you can see from the articles at the bottom of this article, speedonthewater.com has followed both projects since their inception. The coverage set a new standard—never before has the development of two new models been covered on such a granular level online or in print. For everyone involved, the projects have been a labor of love.
