If you’re going to be in Texas next week for the sixth annual Texas Outlaw Challenge, it will be hard to miss the new black 446 catamaran from Marine Technology Inc., the company’s second 446, which is 6 inches wider than the standard 10-foot, 6-inch MTI 44.

Williams, who played college football at North Carolina State, was the overall No. 1 pick of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans.

MTI is planning an invitation-only unveiling party for Williams and his new boat, which is powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines. Speedonthewater.com, which will be attending the Texas Outlaw Challenge, has been invited to the party so look for additional coverage on the new boat next week.

Gallagher, who attended the first Texas Outlaw Challenge in 2008, said he is excited to return the event, especially with the fleet of MTIs that will be participating. Along with at least six impressive later-model catamarans, such as Derek Wachob’s Black Diamond 52 and Bob Bull’s unmistakable black, gray and orange 48, the company’s latest 48-foot catamaran, which was delivered this week to a customer on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks, will be participating in the poker run.

The rest of the run will be completed on Saturday.

On a side note, MTI recently uploaded a cool virtual tour of is new 42-foot center console with four Mercury Verado 300 engines. Gallagher said the company will have its second 42-footer finished in the next few weeks, and the next one—a company demo model—is right behind in the production line.
