New Sea Tow App Available

Sea Tow Services International has launched a new mobile app that enables boaters to call for assistance, ask questions, share GPS coordinates, find local deals and discounts and more “at the click of a button.” The news was announced earlier this week in a press release from the Southold, N.Y.-based vessel-assistance service company.

Available through the Apple App Store and Google Play, the new Sea-Tow app replaces the company’s previous app, which was launched in 2012.

The Sea Tow app will also allow members and non-members to contact the company’s 24-hour dispatch center with just a tap in case they need a tow, fuel delivery, jump start, ungrounding or another type of assistance while boating, according to the release. App users can also share GPS coordinates.

As a direct connection to seatow.com, the app enables users to join Sea Tow, renew memberships, find their local Sea Tow location, access Sea Tow Savings Club deals and discounts, determine their local Automated Radio Check channel, or locate the nearest Sea Tow Foundation Life Jacket Loaner Station.

“Our top priority has always been providing the best possible service to our members and customers,” said Kristen Frohnhoefer, the president of Sea Tow, in the release. “The new app will allow us to continue to do just that. Now, our nationwide network of captains will be more accessible than ever before.”

No longer available, the previous Sea Tow app included information on weather and tides. The new app has been streamlined and no longer has that functionality, but users “can now visit seatow.com/app for Tides and Weather apps recommended by Sea Tow Captains,” the release stated.

“We think the new app will allow Sea Tow and our network of captains to do what we do best—quickly and efficiently help boaters in any way we can,” said Frohnhoefer. “We’ll leave the weather and tides to the experts. We’re experts in providing the best assistance around, and the new app will ensure that we’re able to prove that to boaters everywhere.”
