New Video Release: ‘Mercury Racing’s Fast. Present. Future.’

In conjunction with the unveiling of its QC4v concept automotive crate engine at the 50th annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show last week in Las Vegas, Mercury Racing has released a new promotional video called, “Mercury Racing: Fast. Present. Future.” Backed only with a soundtrack, the minute-and-a-half video chronicles the company’s history of involvement in the automotive racing and high-performance powerboat worlds. Prominently featured in the video is a Dave’s Custom Boats M41 catamaran powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines, the Miss GEICO offshore raceboat powered by a pair of 1650s and the super car unveiled at the SEMA show (read the story), which was outfitted with the 1,650-hp crate version of the engine.

The crate engine project earned Mercury Racing SEMA’s 2013 Global Media Award (read the story). The automobile-targeted powerplant is based off the same platform as the Fond du Lac, Wis., company’s 1,100-, 1,350- and 1,650-hp turbocharged high-performance marine engines.
