NJPPC Still Seeking Host Boats For Wounded Warriors

Flanked by the New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club’s Atlantic City Poker Run Friday, June 20, and an Offshore Powerboat Association race Sunday, June 22, powerboat rides for more than 50 veterans from the Wounded Warrior Project are being offered Saturday, June 21, as part of the Atlantic City Offshore Grand Prix weekend. At present, the organizers are still looking for powerboat owners—both from the poker run and in the local area—who want to offers rides for the veterans on Saturday.

“We are looking for boat owners to volunteer their time and their boats to help a Wounded Warrior see the beauty of the Atlantic City skyline from the water,” said Dave Patnaude, the president of the NJPPC, in a press release from the organization. “We will be boarding the Wounded Warriors from the bulkhead between E & F docks starting at 1 p.m.”

Current volunteer owners and their boats include: Bob Christie, 42′ Cigarette; Gary Goodell, 38′ Cigarette; Joe Amoroso, 39′ Outerlimits; Bill Kuppel, 35′ Formula; Mark Fischer, 39′ Deep Impact; Rich Cuny, 32′ Fountain; Dave Beach, 37′ Outerlimits; Jeff Hoffberger, 66′ Viking; Marilyn Brahms, 25′ Sunbird; Ken Gimbel, 47′ Bayliner; Charlie Amorosi, 35′ Statement; Henry Frank, 37′ Formula; Rich Thomas, 38′ Hustler; Joseph Wright 26′, Sea Ray; and Chris Reindl, 24′ Reindl Bat Boat.

“As a thank-you we are also hosting a private cocktail party for the Wounded Warriors that evening from 5 to 7 p.m.,” said Patnaude. “There will be complimentary beer, wine and hors’ devours. All boat captains will be given two complimentary passes to join the offshore powerboat racers and the Wounded Warriors.”
