Nor-Tech 34’ Center Console to Hit the Water in 30 Days

Deck tooling for Nor-Tech’s new 34-foot-long performance-oriented center console was completed this week, according to Terry Sobo, the director of sales and marketing for the Cape Coral, Fla., company. The first offering, which reportedly was born out of demand created by the company’s 39-foot center console, will be powered by a pair of 300-hp Mercury Verado outboard engines. The boat should be on the water in 30 days, said Sobo.

The new model, however, will not simply be a down-sized duplicate of its larger sibling.

“It’s similar in theme, with some tweaks,” said Sobo. “We’ve tried to retain all the best features of the 39 in the 34, but once you finish a boat you look at it and say, ‘Maybe we could do this better, maybe we could that do that better.’

“So we’ve tried to improve the 34 as well,” he continued. “And we’ve incorporated styling cues that work with the hull size to differentiate it from the 39.”

Production of the 34-footer was originally targeted for June. According to Sobo, final deck tooling took longer than anticipated, which is not uncommon for new models.
