Nor-Tech Expands Seating In Latest 340 Sport Center Console
Visitors to the Miami International Boat Show, which opens tomorrow at 10 a.m., will find something unusual in the new Nor-Tech 340 Sport center console on display at the Fort Myers, Fla., company’s dock exhibit. Powered by triple Mercury Racing 400R outboard engines, the 340 Sport is equipped with a second row of bolster seating. The boat was ordered by Double R Performance, Nor-Tech’s dealer in the Toronto, Canada, area.
Outfitted with two rows of bolsters, this Nor-Tech 340 Sport is going to be on display at the Miami International Boat Show this week.
“People love to put a lot of people in these boats, and we found an effective way to do that in the 340 with a second row of bolsters,” said Peter Roberts, who owns the full-service dealership with his brother, Raymond.
Though the helm station’s bolster-row is set up with three individual seats, the second row has no distinct separation between passenger positions.
“That row can accommodate three people or, if necessary, two really big people,” said Roberts. “My brother, Raymond, went down to the Nor-Tech factory, got in the boat with (Nor-Tech co-founder and president) Trond Schou and they figured it out. It works great.
Of course, it has all the other Double R signature features like the hull-side paint fade and the ice clear coat,” he added.
Aft of the second bolster row, the 34-footer’s cockpit is equipped with a sculpted three-person bench. The boat reportedly tops out in the mid-80-mph range.

Roberts arrived in Miami this afternoon and he’ll be at the Nor-Tech docks tomorrow and throughout the show. Asked about other models the builder will display—representatives of the company have been unusually tight-lipped about what show visitors can expect from Nor-Tech—he declined to comment.
