Nor-Tech Planning Extensive Land and Water Displays for Miami

It’s hard to get Terry Sobo, director of sales and marketing for Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats, excited about the Miami International Boat Show. First of all, he’s yet to miss a show in 23 years so he’s been there, done that. Plus, it’s tiring and it’s a ton of work—before, during and after. That’s not to say it’s not worth it. If it wasn’t, he would have skipped one or 10.

Nor-Tech will have a new 360 MC Flyer on display at next month’s Miami show. For a complete story on the company’s first 360 MC Flyer (above, photographed by Mario Vazquez), download the September/October 2014 issue of Speed On The Water magazine for free.

But on the phone today I heard a bit of enthusiasm in Sobo’s voice as he said Nor-Tech was going to have a “pretty extensive display” at next month’s boat show. Nor-Tech has a new location (Booth 3481) since the section outside the convention center has been reconfigured this year, but the North Fort Myers, Fla., company will still be able to show off two center console models—a 340 Sport and a 392 Super Fish—as well as a new 360 MC Flyer featuring “undisclosed power,” according Sobo.

For the in-water portion of the show at Sea Isle Marina, Sobo said Nor-Tech is going to display a new 390 CC at the Mercury Racing docks that’s been set up for big speed with four engines. Sobo added that Nor-Tech will have a 340 available for demo rides along with a 420 Monte Carlo with twin 550 Cummins diesel engines at Miami Beach Marina.

“There’s a lot of potential for this year’s show,” Sobo said. “After we got through the holidays, the phones have been ringing steadily and there doesn’t appear to be any slowing in sight. The price of gas right now doesn’t hurt.”
