Offshore Racer Andy Biddle Missing After Boating Accident

Two-time P1 SuperStock USA and one-time P1 SuperStock UK offshore racing champion Andy Biddle, who teamed up for his victories with Tracy Blumenstein, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., has been missing since late Sunday evening. According to several local news reports (click here for a recent report), Biddle, 44, was traveling with a friend in a pontoon boat when the vessel struck a buoy at approximately 11:30 p.m. The other person on board reached shore and first responders were called, but at this writing Biddle is still listed as missing  despite an extensive search by U.S. Coast Guard in the area.

Coast Guard aircraft and vessels reportedly searched for approximately 18 hours, according to CBSPhilly, and covered an area of 60 square miles before stopping their search for the evening.

“Our hearts are broken,” said Gene Weeks, a fellow P1 SuperStock USA competitor. “He was fun, he was arrogant and he was the life of the party. We are just so saddened by the whole thing—Andy has a wonderful family. Our hearts are just broken.”
