On Scene: Fun in the Sun at Big Cat Poker Run

It may have been a bit toasty for some folks, but the weather was nearly perfect for Saturday’s Big Cat Poker Run in Discovery Bay, Calif., as more than 70 boats took part in the 14th poker run, which runs roughly 130 miles through the winding California Delta waterways.

Dominated by local boaters who know the ins and outs of the Delta, this year’s run attracted boats of all shapes and sizes including a 21-foot Nordic Boats ski-race boats and 40-plus feet catamarans from the likes of Skater Powerboats and Marine Technology Inc. Speedonthewater.com was on hand running with John Teague and Maggie Rae Henninger in the Teague Custom Marine-powered 28 Daytona Speedster from Eliminator Custom Boats.
