Outerlimits Completes Second Outboard-Powered SL 41

The second Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats SL 41 V-bottom sportboat powered by triple Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines hit the water for the first time this week near the company’s facility in Bristol, R.I. According to Outerlimits sales manager Dan Kleitz, the 41-footer was purchased by a Bristol-area customer who also owns a 48-foot Outerlimits catamaran.

“The boat runs as good as it looks and tops 100 mph,” said Kleitz. “It has an all-pearl-white paintjob, black gelcoat bottom and dark camel interior with black accents. It came out amazing.”

Per the customer’s request, Outerlimits equipped the 41-footer with a custom rear lounge with power footrests rather than two sets of bolsters, which was the cockpit setup for the first outboard-powered SL 41. The triple 400-hp supercharged engines are mounted on hydraulic jack plates.

Helm station features include dual Garmin 8612 GPS units and a C-Zone touch-screen control system for all the boat’s accessories. The boat’s functional cabin includes bench seating, a V-berth and sculpted carpet.
