Outerlimits Displaying At Barrett-Jackson Northeast Auction

The canopied Outerlimits SV 43 that holds the current American Power Boat Association-sanctioned-and-certified V-bottom kilometer record of 180.464 mph will be displayed this week in the Barrett-Jackson Northeast automobile auction at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Connecticut. The event starts tomorrow with a “Preview Day” and runs through the weekend.

Kleitz and company are currently setting up their world-record-holding SV 43 sportboat for this week’s Barrett-Jackson Northeast auction.

“We’re trying to get the Outerlimits name out there more and more and reach a bigger audience,” said Dan Kleitz of Outerlimits, which is based in Bristol, R.I. “We want to match a fast boat with fast cars. What better way to do that than with the world’s fastest V-bottom at a Barrett-Jackson auction?”

Kleitz said he reached out to the auction organizers and they were eager to have the boat, which is owned by Outerlimits principal Joe Sgro and not for sale, at the event.

“Everyone knows the Outerlimits brand from boat shows and poker runs, but we haven’t done this kind of event before,” said Kleitz. “We’re looking forward to the exposure we know having the SV 43 at this event will bring to the company.”
