Outerlimits Fun Run Returning To The Lake of Ozarks

In what has become a Lake of the Ozarks Shootout week tradition, Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats owners will gather on Friday, August 28, for a fun run in advance of the annual top-speed event in Central Missouri. Dan Kleitz, the sales manager for the Bristol, R.I.-based custom high-performance V-bottom and catamaran company, said 20 Outerlimits owners from around the country already have signed up for the fourth annual happening.

Owned by Michiganders Burton and Yvette Kirsten, Jet is one of two spectacular Outerlimits catamarans that will be part of the company’s fun run on the Lake of the Ozarks at the end of the month. “I believe we had 20 boats registered a few years ago, but I think this could end up being our largest Lake of the Ozarks Outerlimits fun run turnout yet,” he said.

Though Outerlimits SV 53 owner Michael “Doc” Janssen has hosted the post-run party at his waterfront home, which has extensive dockage, for the past  three years, the bash is moving to another location this time around. Kleitz said he currently is still in the planning process for the event.

“There are no set plans on where we are going,” he said “It’s all about getting everyone together and enjoying boating.”

Among the Outerlimits owners already committed to the event Burton Yvette Kirsten of Michigan and Washington’s Jason and Laurie Moe. Both couples own canopied SC 46 catamarans. Jeremy Tschida of Wisconsin also is bringing his open-cockpit 46-foot Outerlimits cat to the event.

“Absolutely, we will be there,” said Jason Moe, whose 46-footer dubbed Hurry Up was unveiled at the 2020 Miami International Boat Show. “But we won’t be running in the Shootout.”
