Outerlimits To Showcase New SL 50 And More In Key West

On Wednesday, the Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats team will put a new SL 50-V-bottom through its first sea trial in advance of its delivery for the Florida Powerboat Club’s annual Key West Poker Run next week. According to Dan Kleitz, the Bristol, R.I., custom boat company’s sales manager, the 50-footer’s “finishing touches” will be completed following the Wednesday’s test session.

“We should have it all done Friday,” he said. “It’s leaving for Miami on a new custom-built MYCO trailer on Monday.”

Owner Chris Mastronardi is slated to arrive at the Outerlimits facility on Thursday. A multi-time Outerlimits owner, the Canadian ordered the 50-footer with dual-calibration 1350/1100 engines from Mercury Racing. Stephen Miles and his team at Stephen Miles Design in Owensboro, Ky., tackled the paintwork for the boat, which was constructed with epoxy and E-glass.

“It’s a very cool combination of blue, white and silver,” said Kleitz “It’s classy and sporty at the same time.”

Kutting Edge Interiors of O’Fallon, Mo., handled the SL 50’s Alcantara and ultra-leather interior, which features an extended cockpit with two rows of bolsters and a rear bench. Additional cockpit amenities include two 12-inch Garmin GPS units, a JL Audio sound system and custom carpet.

“We’ve been doing a lot of big boats lately,” said Kleitz. “We have an SL 52 coming right after this one, an SL 44 that’s with Stephen Miles now and a new SL 52 going into the mold. And we’re working on a 46-foot cat for Jason and Laurie Moe.

Mastronardi’s sportboat won’t be the only new 50-foot Outerlimits sportboat heading to Key West next week. Kleitz is bringing Canadian Dave Scotto’s spectacular SL 50X called Team Gotta Go IV, and after the poker run the boat will be displayed in the Florida Powerboat Club’s Poker Run Village. Rhode Island-based Anthony Rosciti is running his new SL 50 dubbed Silver Bullet.

This stunning pair of new 50-footers from Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats will be part of next week’s Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run fleet.

“We’re also continuing work on a couple of smaller boats, including our first outboard engine-powered SV 29 and our new 36-foot cat, also with outboard power,” said Kleitz. “Plus, we’ve been super busy with service and storage work as this winter approaches. But we still have service and storage space available.”
