PBC Road Show Continues In Afterglow Of Fort Lauderdale

Just in time for the first race of the Super Boat International Offshore World Championships, Brett Manire is heading to Key West, Fla., today to support the Performance Boat Center Superboat-class team as it attempts to defend its 2016 world title this week. Manire, who owns the full-service Performance Boat Center powerboat dealership in Osage Beach, Mo., with Mark Waddington, enters Key West full of enthusiasm after a successful week at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which ended last Sunday.

The latest Cigarette 41’ GTR Reserve edition center console was one of three models Performance Boat Center exhibited—and left with deals for—during last week’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

With its own dedicated exhibit space at the Bahia Del Mar docks for the first time, Performance Boat Center displayed, as noted in a prior speedonthewater.com article, a Cigarette Racing Team 41’ GTR Reserve center console, a Sunsation 32 CCX center console and a Wright Performance Powerboats 360 sport catamaran.

“I was very impressed with the attendees’ knowledge of all of our products,” said Manire.

As a result of meetings during the Fort Lauderdale event, Manire took two sets of customers on demo rides in the Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engine-powered 36-footer yesterday.

“Both couples are working through paint designs and timing now,” he said. “On Thursday, I have a customer flying to do the Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run with me in our demo 360 and he’s already told me that if the boat is what he hears it is he will write me a check and order one at the lunch stop. He’s already ridden in our competition’s product.”

Manire said that the Performance Boat Center crew sold one Sunsation 32-footer at the Fort Lauderdale show and has three other deals for the center console nearly complete. “The price point and size make it popular,” he said. “Then people ride in it and it’s a done deal—it’s an awesome machine.”

As for the special edition 41-foot Cigarette center console, the first model from the Opa-Locka, Fla., builder to grace the show’s docks in several years, it, too, was a winner.

“As always, Cigarette proved to be the industry icon and it was great to have one in the show,” said Manire. “We have several deals on the new Reserve model and will wrap things up in Key West.”
