Performance Boat Center Bringing Two Wright Performance 360 Cats to Key West

A dedicated demo boat for Performance Boat Center, the first Wright Performance Powerboats 360 sport catamaran already has 57 hours on its twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines and some 1,800 miles on its hull. The Osage Beach, Mo., full-service dealership will be taking that already well-traveled 36-footer on the Florida Powerboat Club‘s annual poker run to Key, West., which runs concurrently with the Super Boat International Key West Offshore World Championshipsin Nov. 5-12. The catamaran will be on display at the docks in front of the Conch Republic restaurant, which is adjacent to the FPC Poker Run Village.

While the demo boat will be in the water and available for rides, the dealership will display another Wright Performance 360 cat—hull No. 2—on a trailer in the Poker Run Village during the event. The new boat currently is in the process of being painted at Performance Boat Center’s in-house paint shop before it heads for interior installation and rigging.

According to the dealership’s Myrick Coil, the driver of the Performance Boat Center Skater Powerboats 388 raceboat, he’s driven the first Wright Performance 360 to 124 mph.

“I’ve seen 124 mph on the GPS, but it won’t lock on that speed,” he said. “But 123 mph will lock on the GPS. It’s solid and I have video of it.

“It’s on the rev limiters with 34-inch pitch Mercury cleaver props,” he added. “I have 35s coming. During the Lake Cumberland Poker Run, I took (performance boat owner) Burton Kirsten and two of his friends for a ride. We had 60 gallons of fuel in the boat, and it still ran 122 mph. He was blown away.”

Coil said he hopes to leave Key West with the newest Wright Performance 360, which lists at $450,000 fully loaded with, Verado 400R power, a six-speaker stereo system, SeaDek flooring in the glove boxes and stowage lockers and more, sold. The week before the Key West event, the demo Wright Performance 360 will be on display at the Performance Boat Center exhibit along with a Cigarette 41’ GTR Reserve center console and a Sunsation Boats 32 CCX center console at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Said Performance Boat Center’s Brett Manire, who’ll be on site at the Fort Lauderdale and Key West event, “The Wright Performance 360 is loaded with everything. All the customer has to do is pick interior and exterior colors.”
