Performance Boat Center Completes In-House Paint On 32 Doug Wright Cat

Performance Boat Center completed an in-house paintjob of a new 32-foot Doug Wright pleasure catamaran today and the boat is heading for rigging, where it will be outfitted with a pair of Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines. The 32-footer, plus a new Doug Wright 360 catamaran now heading into the Osage Beach, Mo., full-service new and pre-owned powerboat dealership’s painting booth, will debut at the upcoming at the Shootout On The Strip Street Party and Display during Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in late August.

This Wright Performance 32-foot catamaran is getting a Waves And Wheels interior and will be rigged with Verado 400R outboards by Performance Boat Center.

“I just left the paint shop,” said Brett Manire, who co-owns Performance Boat Center with Mark Waddington. “Conner Brown came up with a great rendering. We designed it on our CAD system, cut the stencils and painted it. We clear-coated it last night.

“The 32 came to us three weeks ago like a piece of art,” he added. “These Doug Wrights are coming in so nicely that they hardly need to be messed with in (pre-paint-application) prep.”dougwright32pbc 01

Manire said that the Performance Boat Center prepped Doug Wright catamarans will be branded as Wright Performance models. The 32-footer is headed to a Southern Illinois-based father-and-son duo, repeat customers who purchased a 30-foot Predator catamaran—recently sold to a buyer in Canada—from the dealership.

“They had us do a custom paintjob, and Waves And Wheels is going to do the interior,” said Manire. “Both the 32 and the 360 will be at the docks at Captain Ron’s during the Shootout. And the 360 will be available for demo rides. We have a lot of work to do before then.”
