Performance Boat Center Enjoys Key West Poker Run Awards Trifecta

Based in Osage Beach, Mo., with a second location in Hollywood, Fla., Performance Boat Center picked up three awards from the Florida Powerboat Club during its Key West, Fla., poker run earlier this month. FPC president Stu Jones dubbed Win Farnsworth’s Wright Performance 420—the first Performance Boat Center finished 42-footer powered by Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines—with the club’s “Best Catamaran” award, while a Sunsation 40 CCX owned by customer Jason Tolliver earned its “Best Center Console” honor.

Purchased to surprise his longtime girlfriend Sara Christine, Winn Farnsworth’s Wright Performance 420 catamaran earned the Florida Powerboat Club’s “Best Catamaran” award during its recent Key West Poker Run.

Renovated inside and out by Performance Boat Center, Scott Rosenbach’s 48-foot MTI catamaran earned the club’s “Best Paintjob” distinction.

“I don’t know if one dealership has one three awards there before,” said Manire. “I thought it was damn cool, and it means a lot to us. Yes, we are sponsors, but so is everybody else. So we’re proud of it.

Starting with the season finale of the American Power Boat Association Offshore Championship Series season finale in Fort Myers Beach, Fla., and wrapping up with the Race World Offshore Key West Championships—with the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show between those events—the Performance Boat Center crew was on the road more extensively than usual in October and November. They’ll be getting a much-needed four-day break next week as the dealership will be closed from Thanksgiving Day through the holiday weekend.

“Mark and I are drivers—I don’t think we’ve taken more than two days off since we started 10 years ago,” said Manire. “Everyone could use a few days off to recharge and come back fresh. They earned it.”
