Peters & May Backing Three Teams at Key West Worlds

Global yacht and powerboat transportation and logistics leader Peters & May will have three boats flying its “sponsorship colors” at the Super Boat International World Championships in Key West, Fla.  The boats sponsored by the United Kingdom-headquartered company will run in three classes:

X-Cat

The 32′ Doug Wright Gary Ballough and Omar Daniali fielded this season in X-Cat will run in the Superboat Stock class.

Superboat Stock—World title-winning throttleman Gary Ballough will team up with Omar Daniali in the 32′ Doug Wright catamaran they’ve been racing in the X-Cat series in the Middle East, and will be among nine boats running in the SBI twin-outboard Stock class. The boat was originally shipped by Peters & May when Ballough began racing X-Cat, and will be returned to Dubai for the 2012 X-Cat series following the Key West event.

Superboat V Extreme—Nigel Hook and Michael Slifverberg will compete in their Lucas Oil/MAV-TV 48-foot V-bottom designed by Ocke Mannerfelt and built by Mystic Powerboats in Deland, Fla. The teamed campaign the boat on the Ocean Grand in Europe this season.

 Manufacturer Production 1 (P1)—Running a Donzi 38 ZR Comp are Daniel Cramphorn and Kim Collins. The two have won several water-skiing titles in England and Australia.

Peters & May also will have a presence in the Florida Power Boat Club’s Poker Run Village with Powerboat P1 USA, which is bringing several of its P1-28SS Panther s to participate in the Miami to Key West ride. The boats are used in one-design class racing in Europe and the United States.
