Peters & May has signed an agreement with the Union Internationale Motonautique, the international powerboat racing sanctioning body, to support its Youth Develop Program, according to a press release from the United Kingdom-based yacht and powerboat transportation and logistics company. The agreement names Peters & May as a “funding partner” in the project, which  “encourages young people to participate in a UIM structured-powerboat racing training program and to become versed in the UIM Code of Ethics.”

“As a fan and a father, I recognize the importance of focusing on developing the sport from the grass roots up so that it can be enjoyed by future generations,” said David Holley, the chief executive officer of Peters & May, in the release. “The UIM and (UIM president) Dr. Raffaele Chiulli have shown a great commitment to developing the sport and Peters & May is pleased to contribute and participate in that effort, a key to our future and that of future generations of powerboat enthusiasts.”

The Youth Development Program is Peters & May’s second partnership with the UIM after being named the “UIM Approved Marine Transport Provider” in February of 2011.

“The agreement we have signed with Peters & May is a clear demonstration of the UIM’s commitment to future generations,” said Chiulli in the release. “Their training and development will certainly help to create a new passion for our sport.”
