Pirates of Lanier Poker Run iPhone App

The first of its kind in the performance-boat poker run realm (that we know of), the new app is up and running on iTunes and is available for Apple and Android devices. The cool, all-encompassing app for the poker run, which is organized by the Lanier Partners of North Georgia (LPNG), was designed by Ronnie Gordon of Gordon Media Services in Flowery Branch, Ga.

According to John Woodruff, who owns the 48-foot Marine Technology Inc. catamaran Windship and is on the LPNG board of directors, the app allows people to quickly view a schedule, the card stop locations, the event website and more, including instant connections to social media apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube without leaving the app.

Woodruff also was pumped up about the “Pirate Finder” function within the app that allows you to find your favorite boats registered in poker run, and shows their exact location and speed. He added that registered boat captains get even further instruction and information.

And if that’s not enough, the organizers are providing live streaming video so people can check out the activities in various locations each day on any electronic device.

“We’re excited about the new app—I believe it’s the first poker run app that’s been done,” said Woodruff, who added that Gary Goodell and the crew in the GEICO Caveman Cigarette Racing 38 Top Gun will be joined by Paul Teutul Sr. Orange Country Choppers fame.
