Quick Look: Mystic C4400 Cat No. 2 Paint Complete

When the second new Mystic Powerboats C4400 catamaran hit the paint booth at the DeLand, Fla., custom high-performance powerboat builder’s facility a few weeks ago, it was a blank canvas. Taken on a rainy day, the latest photos of the finished product, courtesy of Pier 57 Marine’s Scott Sjogren, prove it is anything but. True, the paint work isn’t flashy—and that was by design. Hull No. 2, which is powered by Mercury Racing 700 SCi engines, is the builder’s and dealer’s “demo boat.” In brand and model, it’s meant to be unmistakable.

The third 44-footer currently is in the paint booth. That the first two graphics packages incorporated plenty of blue, though in significantly different shades, was pure coincidence. We wouldn’t mind seeing some warmer colors the next time around, but of course that’s not up to us. Still, if hull No. 3 three is anything like the first two, it’s going to be a beauty.
