Running Out The Year

Just two longstanding, organized high-performance powerboating events remain this season, though to be precise the second one opens the 2020 season. And both are within days of one another in Southwest Florida.

The Fort Myers Offshore New Year’s Fun Run is set for Saturday, December 28. Just up the road a bit in Sarasota, the Joey Gratton Memorial New Year’s Day Fun Run is set for Wednesday, January 1.

You could, if the spirit moved you, do both. Plenty of folks do just that. From near and far, they come to close the door on one boating season and open the door to the next.
