SBI Secures Southern Racing Fuels Deal For 2015-2016 Seasons

Southern Racing Fuels has signed up with Super Boat International to be the offshore racing organization’s “official supplier of Sunoco Race Fuels.” The news of the two-year agreement was announced in a press release from SBI, which is headquartered in Key West, Fla., the site of its annual world championships.

The new agreement joins SBI with the top racing fuel supplier and fuel brand in America, according to the release. Details for available on event-site fueling, prices and other offers by Southern Racing Fuels have not yet been released.

“We are very proud to have Southern Racing Fuels onboard as an official sponsor for the next few years,” said John Carbonell, the president of SBI, in the release. “”They have supported us in the past and hopefully this continues to be a longstanding relationship.”

The fuel sponsorship news follow on the heels of the announcement that GEICO will be the title sponsor for the 2015 SBI season, which begins May 15-17 with the Cocoa Beach, Fla., event.

“I think this is going to be a very pivotal year not only in boat racing, but in our economy,” said Carbonell. “We had great support from our race teams last year and they have already shown their commitment and passion to join us in 2015. With lower fuel prices, it will help our race teams as long as the economy stays strong. Many others have commented on their forecast for next year and I believe it is going to be a very good year.”
