Sneak Peek From Bimini: Formula 400 SSC

Last month, we reported that Formula Boats of Decatur, Ind., was adding a 40-footer to its outboard engine-powered Super Sport Crossover powerboat line. Dubbed the 400 SSC, the new model joins a successful series that includes 33-, 35- and 43-footers. Problem was, all we had to offer was a rendering of the spacious and functional new boat at the time we reported it.

The new 400 SSC rounds out a four-boat series of outboard-powered offerings (click image to enlarge).

Now, thanks to Formula, we have something more. And if you’ve ever wondered why the company goes to all the time and trouble to shoot new models off the Bahamian isle of South Bimini, the stunning images here should help provide you with an answer.

Formula fans will get a chance to see the 400 SSC at the upcoming Newport International Boat Show Sept. 13-16 in Rhode Island and Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Oct. 31-Nov 4 in Florida. But until then, here’s a look at the latest Formula beauty.
