Sneak Peek Gallery: DCB M31 Ready To Storm Desert Storm

Given this week’s lethally cold temperatures in portions of the United States, the Desert Storm Poker Run set for April 24-28 is something to at least imagine enjoying. And if you do make it to the incredible Thursday night street party during the annual performance boating extravaganza in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., you won’t want to miss the latest M31 Widebody catamaran from DCB Performance Boats in El Cajon, Calif.

Coming to Desert Storm in April, a red-hot DCB M31 Widebody cat powered by Mercury Racing 1100 engines (click image to enlarge).

But for those who can’t make it to the West Coast’s most important go-boating event, here’s a quick look at the finely detailed 31-footer.

Powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 1100 engines with M8 drives, the catamaran eventually will be delivered to its Toronto, Canada-based owner, who spared no expense with the build. The boat was decked out with an Alcantara-finished interior cockpit—with a matching underdeck cuddy space—and a custom-matching carpet kit with shaved diamonds in the fabric that also match its Phase III gelcoat scheme. The M31 is”half-capped” with a black powder-coated stainless-steel rubrail and was constructed using the vacuum infused resin (VIR) process, balsa-coring and carbon-fiber. The builder also installed a SeaDek “boarding kit,” which translates to the popular surface applied between the engine hatches and on the steps into the cockpit.

Check out the slideshow above for a closer look at the latest DCB M31.

The catamaran is loaded with electronics including two Simrad NSS9 Evo3 touchscreen monitors, a Garmin 7608 GPS center plotter, two Garmin GMi20 units in back of driver’s and copilot’s bucket seat headrests and a rearview “backup” camera. Other features include an interior Rigid LED lighting package (mood lighting, courtesy lighting, LED cupholders), a Stage III stereo and a six-person intercom system. The buyer also ordered the boat with a triple-axle custom Extreme trailer with customized 18-inch MOTO Metal rims, stainless-steel fenders and a triangular drive guard.
