Sneak Peek: Stephen Miles Goes Classic With Outerlimits SL 52

In the past two years, Stephen Miles has produced three breathtaking “themed” graphics packages for a remarkable trio of Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats’ creations. Miles and his team in Owensboro, Ky., knocked themselves out with Hurry Up and Jet—a pair of canopied 46-foot cats from the Bristol, R.I., custom boat-builder, as well as Crypto, a canopied SV 43 V-bottom.

Headed back to Outerlimits next week, this 52-footer looks stunning in its new paintjob by Stephen Miles Design.

But that doesn’t mean the namesake of Stephen Miles Design has gone theme-crazy and abandoned some of his more-traditional, signature work. Case in point is the recently completed—and downright smoldering—paintjob on a new Outerlimits SL 52. The boat heads back to Rhode Island next week for engine installation/rigging and interior installation.

Miles estimated he and his talented crew have slightly less than 800 hours into the job. It included—as most Outerlimits projects do—painting bolster backs, the underside of hatches, the cabin door and panels and more.

“We’re just finishing up the small parts now,” said Miles. “There always are a lot of extra details on our Outerlimits paintjobs.
