Statement Adding 34-, 36- and 39-foot Center Consoles

The new 34′ SUV is the latest addition to the Statement Marine center console line.

Custom high-performance powerboat builder Statement Marine has released a 34-footer and will add 36- and 39-foot models to its “SUV” series of center consoles. The St. Petersburg, Fla., builder kicked off its center console line with a 37-foot model.

According to a press release from the company, the 36-footer is in production and will debut at the 2012 Miami International Boat Show. The 39’ SUV will be unveiled in summer 2012.

The Statement 34’ and 37’ SUVs have 10-foot beams and feature open floor plans that can be custom-configured for a variety of on-water activities from serious tournament fishing to island hopping.

“Manufacturers have offered some packages to try to broaden the market for what they already have, but there have been very few offerings with true crossover appeal, until now,” said Todd Werner, an offshore racing world champion who co-founded and co-owns the company with Nick Buis, in the press release.

Yet versatility and broad appeal have not been gained at the expense of performance for the stepped-hull center console offerings, according to the release.

The 34 SUV boasts a custom-built hardtop.

“We all know the speed and performance benefits of stepped V-bottom hulls, as well as the potential tradeoffs in terms of handling and especially turning,” said Mike Flanigan, Statement’s vice president of sales and marketing. “We developed a running surface that provides all the speed and efficiency of a ventilated hull, yet attacks the turns like a heavy, solid, 24-degree conventional V-bottom.”

The price for the new Statement 34 SUV with a pair of 300-hp Mercury Verado outboard engines—like the 37-footer, the 34 also is available with diesel power—starts at $200,000.
