Stephen Miles Design Committed Through July 2018

With the finishing touches nearly complete on an all-carbon-fiber Outerlimits SL 44 V-bottom and a new Deep Impact 399 center console heading their way, Stephen Miles and his crew at Stephen Miles Design in Owensboro, Ky., won’t be getting a lot of downtime during the holidays. According to Miles, the steady—and welcome—flow of high-performance powerboat paintjobs has his shop fully committed with work into early July.

Paintwork for Outerlimits customers continues to drive business at Stephen Mile Design.

While Miles said the center console market paintwork “definitely is picking up,” V-bottoms and catamarans from Outerlimits continue to drive his booming business.

“We have an Outerlimits SV 43 with Mercury Racing 1550s coming,” he said. “We also have Burton Kirsten’s new Outerlimits catamaran coming. And (longtime Outerlimits customer) Dave Scotto has another Outerlimits on order, so we’ll painting that. We’ve also been painting the truck and scooters and toys to match the boats for one of our Outerlimits clients.”

Miles said he’ll also be painting a new Marine Technology, Inc., catamaran next year. It will be his first job for the Wentzville, Mo., high-performance catamaran and center console company.

“I can’t reveal who the client is, but we’re very excited about it,” he said.
