Sunday Fun Day: Jason Parvey

Sunday Fun Days can vary to a certain degree for me, depending on if I’m in Minnesota or Texas. Now that I live in Texas, I fly back to Minnesota about one to two times per month in the summer to help my dad, Dennis, with his 43’ Black Thunder. It has been a great 15 years working with him on this project, and I am excited to see what the future brings for us. I have learned an extraordinary amount from him.

When in Texas, I can usually be found helping my good friend and boss, Clay Kehrer, with miscellaneous items for his 40-foot Skater Powerboats catmaran that he is redoing. The past year has been awesome helping out Clay. He has a very strong vision for this boat, and it will be a showpiece when it is done.

Whether I’m in Texas or Minnesota, one consistent thing is that I always find a way to get some grease and metal polishing compound stuck on my hands. Clay says I have an addiction to it. I told him the process isn’t much fun, but the end result is worth it.

All in all, even if I am wrenching on a boat or out on the lake, I am pretty fortunate to have great friends and family to hang out with on the weekends.

P.S. I am heading out the door to hang out with Buford T Justice, if that tells you anything what my Texas weekends are like! #shakenbake
