The plant expansion will give the Sunsation the space it needs to build its new 34-foot center console, as well as add other models to its center console series.

Spurred the by development of its new 34-foot center console model, which is slated for release in August 2012, Sunsation Performance Boats is expanding its plant. The Algonac, Mich., semi-custom boat builder has received city approval to add 3,000 square feet to its existing 37,000-square-foot building.

“We’re moving right along with the expansion and we’re excited about it,” said Wayne Schaldenbrand, who co-owns Sunsation with his brother, Joe, during the Super Boat International World Championships in Key West, Fla., earlier this month. “We’re looking forward to having the extra space to build the 34 and the other center console models we plan to release.”

According to a press release from the company, development of the 34f-footer has been outsourced to Marine Systems. The company was founded and is headed by Gary Bridges, and Paul Gallup, who were instrumental in the development of the Fountain Powerboats line.
