Sunsation Prepping for Lake of the Ozarks Shootout

The crew at Sunsation Boats is currently working to finish its latest 34 CCX model according to Wayne Schaldenbrand, who was hard at work this afternoon configuring a windlass for the Algonac, Mich., company’s sixth center-console offering.

Set to be delivered to new owner Jeff Howell next week at Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks, the 34 CCX with twin Mercury Verado 300s for power is the first from Sunsation with a windlass as well as an all-white tower. In fact, the boat, which will be on display at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout along with a handful of other Sunsation models, is being delivered completely white.

“I think the owner is eventually going to paint the boat to match his MTI, but for now we’re leaving it all white,” Schaldenbrand said. “The boat looks really clean. The interior has a lot of oranges and yellows, it’s quite different than the other 34s we’ve built.”

Schaldenbrand added that the company has eight slips reserved at Captain Ron’s over the Shootout weekend (Aug. 24-25) for a few of its customers who will be running their V-bottoms as well a couple of center consoles—the company’s triple-engine Verado 300 demo model and the twin-engine Verado 300 34-footer from Lake Ozarks Marine. He also said the company’s brand-new SportChassis truck will be on display. Looks like it’s going to be a busy couple of weeks for the Sunsation team.
