Sunsation Teams Up with Waves and Wheels on Diamond Edition 34 CCX

There are a couple of things that stand out when it comes to the newest 34 CCX from Sunsation Boats, a factory demo model powered by triple Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines that is currently at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and is expected to be on display and competing in next month’s Lake of the Ozarks Shootout.

First, the 34-foot center console, which boasts an exceptional paint job from Kustom Kolors in Marion, Ohio, is the company’s first 34 CCX to feature its newly designed aerodynamic fiberglass hardtop that is expected to produce at least 200 pounds of lift at speed, according to Sunsation’s calculations.

Second, the interior on the silver and blue stunner is the first 34 CCX featuring a Waves and Wheels premium interior and audio package—a new option offered by the Algonac, Mich., boat builder. And according to Jared Morris, who owns Sunsation with brothers Joe and Wayne Schaldenbrand, the audio and upholstery experts in Osage Beach, Mo., knocked it out of the park.

“This boat is the crème de la crème,” Morris said after seeing the completed boat in person for the first time on Friday. “We were excited to be able to work with Justin Wagner and his team and they did not disappoint. In my opinion, it’s the best-looking center console I’ve ever seen. The new Waves and Wheels interior, which we’re excited to offer as an option for our customers, changes the boat completely. It really does.”

From the new foam seat designs and the black marine-grade synthetic suede upholstery to the intricate stitching/embroidery work and the installation of the matching SeaDek flooring, Morris said Waves and Wheels handled all of the interior work in the 34-footer. On top of the interior design, a premium Waves and Wheels audio system featuring 16 Focal 165ACM speakers, four 10-inch Focal subwoofers, two Focal amplifiers and a Waves and Wheels QAP speaker pod was installed in the 34 CCX.

“I have a feeling this is the start of a long relationship between Sunsation and Waves and Wheels,” said Morris, who added that Sunsation is currently taking orders for boats set for delivery at the end of next summer. “I’ve admired Justin and his team for some time and, after getting a chance to see their attention to detail and finish work firsthand on our new Diamond Edition model, all of us at Sunsation are impressed. I’m also impressed with the sound quality of the stereo system—it pounds.”

In addition to the new 34 CCX, Morris said Sunsation will have a handful of boats on hand for next month’s Shootout, including a new 32 CCX with triple Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines.

“Everyone at Waves and Wheels is proud to have our work on display in the latest 34 CCX from Sunsation,” Wagner said. “It’s been a privilege to work with those guys and show them what we can do. Sunsation is an awesome company with a great reputation and great people. We’re looking forward to doing another one.”
