Super Cat Fest to Host Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Auction

For the eighth year in a row, Missouri’s Alvin Heathman has been working hard to put together one of the coolest gatherings in the country, Super Cat Fest at Camden on the Lake Resort in Lake Ozarks, Mo. Featuring dozens of the latest-and-great go-fast catamarans—not to mention several classic offshore beauties—every year the event seems to get better.

Some of that has to do with the location, the facility and the timing, as it complements the many Lake of the Ozarks Shootout events happening that week all around the lake, but much of it has to do with the service and hospitality shown by Heathman and his team. Between assistance at the docks, social gatherings and more, they go above and beyond for their guests.

Adding to the luster of this year’s Super Cat Fest, which is going to be filled to capacity as usual, the live auction for the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is going to take place there on Saturday night.

For us, we’re all about service and giving everyone the opportunity to eat, sleep, drink and boat from the same place—all while giving others the chance to admire their boats.”

Ron Duggan, the primary organizer behind the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, said he was excited to have Super Cat Fest more involved this year.

“With the quality of people at Super Cat Fest and the fact that it’s become the place to go on Saturday evening for many people in town, we are working with Alvin to host our live auction in conjunction with his event at 8 p.m. that evening,” Duggan said. “We’ve held the live auction the past few years on Thursday during the Performance Boat Center Welcome Party but I think doing it at Super Cat Fest will be a nice change of pace and possibly put more emphasis on the fundraising.

“We’ll still be hosting our silent auction, which we’ve done for many years, at Captain Ron’s during the poker run dinner and party on Friday night,” Duggan added. “Thanks to our generous sponsors, an army of volunteers and the participants, both competitors and spectators, we hope to once again break records in terms of the event’s overall donations.”

The live auction may not be the only new thing in store for Super Cat Fest this year as Heathman might have more up his sleeve. Until then, speedonthewater.com will continue to provide updates on both Super Cat Fest and the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, which, believe it or now, are only two months away.
