As part of the promotional efforts for the upcoming three-part NBC Sports program on last month’s Super Boat International Offshore World Championships in Key West, Fla., SBI and television producer JM Associates released two more videos today. (The first general promotional video for the upcoming program was released last night.) The new videos feature the Hooters-Instigator and Miss GEICO Offshore Racing teams and were provided to speedonthewater.com courtesy of SBI.

Running a 40-foot Fountain V-bottom, the Hooters-Instigator team of owner/driver Peter Meyer and throttleman John Stanch took 2015 SBI Superboat Extreme-Class World Championship. For Meyer, it was his 12th world title. Among the highlights of the 1-minute, 24-second video is the team’s literal rubrail-to-rubrail battle with Billy Glueck and Brett Lee Furshman in the Cooper Standard 37-foot Fountain.

With three engine problems in three races, Miss GEICO’s misfortunes in Key West mirrored those of its regular season. But the 2-minute, 18-second video focuses on the human element of the Miss GEICO team more than its performance on the racecourse. “These guys don’t quit,” says Miss GEICO’s driver Marc Granet at one point in the video. “That’s what makes this team so strong.”

The first episode of the complete program will be on Sunday, Jan. 31 at noon (EST). The second installment is set for Sunday, Feb. 7, and the third is slated for Sunday, Feb. 14 at 3 p.m. (EST) on local NBC Sports channels.
