According to Ken Kuenzie, who owns Viper Communications with Dennis Klautzer, the connection between his company and the race organization stems from OPA’s involvement the last two years as the sanctioning organization for the Lake Race on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks in June.

“We’ve got the same crew of people coming with us that we use for the Shootout and the Lake Race broadcasts,” said Kuenzie, who is excited about having WENG involved in the OPA/APBA Offshore World Championship, which is now part of the Englewood Beach Waterfest. “I think we’re in for a real fun weekend with some of the biggest and baddest boats on the planet.”

Kuenzie added that many of the familiar faces from the Lake Race and the Shootout broadcasts will be on hand, including powerboat aficionado Shane Sherman, who will provide insight from the docks.

There are a variety of ways to catch the racing action on Sunday (Nov. 22) as it will be aired on WWSB TV ABC 7 on Comcast 7 & 431; Verizon Fios 7 & 507; Direct TV channel 40; Brighthouse 7 & 100; RokuTV, Ustream and WWSB www.mysuncoast.com.
