Justin Wagner of Waves and Wheels has done some upgrades to the Ironman-themed Hustler 377 Talon since we last saw it at the 2012 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout.

Since returning from the Tickfaw 200 Poker Run in Louisiana in May, Justin Wagner of Waves and Wheels in Osage Beach, Mo., has been awaiting the return of Ironman, his Hustler Powerboats 377 Talon theme boat that we followed extensively last year on speedonthewater.com (here’s the series of articles).

Yesterday I caught up with Wagner, who is expecting to test the boat this weekend as well as run it in the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout the following weekend, assuming all goes as planned. Ozark Speed and Marine in Camdenton just wrapped up a rebuild on the boat’s Mercury Racing 575SCi engines with Teague Custom Marine Superchiller intercooler kits and Performance Boat Center is expected to have the show-quality rigging finished this week.

The engines, which include all-new headers from Custom Marine Inc., are making almost 800 horsepower each, according to Wagner, who said he’s made a few “tweaks” to the boat, including improving the already-impressive entertainment system and creating a custom swim platform.

Wagner said he’ll have the boat on display at the Shootout Party in the Park on Wednesday and be giving rides at Thursday’s “Wishing on a Ride” event before taking it to that evening’s Stereo Shootout, an event he’s hosted for quite a few years in conjunction with the Shootout. It was also be on display at Captain Ron’s next Saturday and Sunday. Look for an update early next week on speedonthewater.com after the boat hits the water.
