Why Pro-Line Matters
Despite that Pro-Line center consoles have been around since 1968, you—as a go-fast-boat enthusiast—probably couldn’t care less about them. And why would you? There’s nothing in the Pro-Line model series, which ranges from 21 to 35 feet, that appeals to a serious performance-boat enthusiast. They are traditional center consoles with a focus on fishing, not performance-oriented consoles from the likes Cigarette, Concept, Nor-Tech, Statement and others, much less true sportboats.
And yet, three sportboat brands—Baja, Donzi and Fountain—depend on Pro-Line for their very existence. While all four brands are built under the Baja Marine umbrella in Washington, N.C., Pro-Line is the cash cow, so to speak, that keeps them all afloat.
