Wozencraft World Tour Stop No. 2: Scenes From The Tickfaw 200

Though it’s not the farthest event from Devin Wozencraft’s Southern California home, the timing of last weekend’s Tickfaw 200 Poker Run in Springfield, La., makes it among the most logistically challenging stops on the high-performance marine insurance agency owner’s annual poker-run tour. That’s because the Tickfaw 200 happens just five days after the Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Wozencraft always maintains a big presence at that event.

For the third year in a row, Wozencraft hauled his 30-foot Skater cat across the country to the Tickfaw 200 Poker Run in Louisiana (click image to enlarge).

In fact, Desert Storm and the Tickfaw 200 are the only back-to-back weekend happenings on the 2019 Wozencraft World Tour. Wozencraft typically has at least two weeks between events, and that allows him to return home, take care of whatever business needs to be taken care of and head out on the road again. For the third year in a row, Wozencraft left his 30-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran and hauler with a friend in Louisiana after the Tickfaw 200 so he can fly back, pick up the boat and haul it to the next stop on his tour.

For good reason, event organizers around the country have taken to calling his ride the “Travelocity Skater”—Nolan Ferris, one of the organizers of the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run, came up with the name and it stuck.

As it happens, Wozencraft’s next haul isn’t that bad—or at least as bad as it could be. From the New Orleans area, he’ll pull the 30-footer to Jacksonville, Fla., for next weekend’s Jacksonville River Rally and Poker Run. And with an event-free weekend on tap tomorrow, he has time to regroup before he hits the road again.
