Big Thunder Going Big With New Fountain And Donzi Display At Lake Race Street Party

Visitors to this evening’s Lake Race Street Party on Bagnell Dam at the Lake of the Ozarks will have more than raceboats to ogle in advance of tomorrow’s American Power Boat Association Offshore National Championship Series event on the Central Missouri waterway. Locally based Big Thunder Marine, a powerhouse Fountain dealership in Osage Beach, Mo.,will have four new Fountains and one Donzi on display in tonight’s event, which runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Big Thunder Marine’s Jeremy Anderson described the 2022 Fountain 38 SC as “the hottest, best-looking 38 SC yet.”

“We will have seven boats total, including a 2021 Mastercraft X26 and a 2021 Manitou Twin-Engine Tritoon, at the Lake Race Street Party,” said Jeremy Anderson, Big Thunder Marine’s general manager. “That includes the hottest, best-looking 38 SC yet powered by Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines with carbon fiber cowlings to match the carbon fiber paintjob that was done in house at Fountain.”

In addition to the 38 SC, Big Thunder will exhibit 2022 43NX and 2021 38 LS center consoles in the event. But the dealership also has something for diehard Fountain sportboat fans in the form of a 2021 42 Lightning powered by Mercury Racing 1350/1100 engines and owned by Greg Knutsen of Washington.

For Donzi enthusiasts, Big Thunder will showcase a 2021 38 ZRC—the first of the new breed to be equipped with an optional full-wraparound windshield. (For 38 ZRC purists, the boat’s original quarter-canopy-style windshields for the driver and co-pilot are still offered.)

Tomorrow’s racing action is slated to begin at 11 a.m. Fans can listen to the races on KRMS radio—97.5 FM or 105.5 FM—or watch the livestream on the station’s website. Look for complete coverage this weekend on speedonthewater.com.

Sitting pretty with a new wraparound windshield, the 2021 38 ZRC should attract plenty of attention tonight.
