Darmon Schoonmaker and Sophia Conroy were appointed to the board of directors on January 13, according to club president Roger Zuidema. Their positions became available with the recent resignations of board members Steve McCormack in the fall of 2020 and Justin Bultsma earlier this month.

The board-position appointments were made by Roger Zuidema in accordance with the organization’s by-laws “with approval by at least 50 percent affirmative vote of the other board members present at a duly-called meeting.”

“WMO would like to welcome Darmon Schoonmaker and Sophia Conroy as new members of the Board and we look forward to future collaboration, Zuidema said in the release. “To accomplish our goals, WMO needs members/volunteers to step up in leadership and planning roles. Please consider future opportunities as we continue to put on fun and safe events.”
