Boaters Excited For Fifth International Snowmobile Rally In Wyoming

In two months, dozens of performance boaters are going to gather in Saratoga, Wyo., for the fifth annual International Snowmobile Rally hosted by Saratoga Hot Springs Resort and Dr. Michael “Doc” Janssen, the well known powerboat enthusiast, former offshore racing world champion and highly sought after spinal surgeon from Colorado.

After a successful fourth annual event in and around Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming’s Snowy Range at the beginning of the year, the 2019 rally, which takes place January 24-27, 2019, is near capacity, according to Janssen, who owns the resort as well as the Snowy Mountain Brewery on the property that includes a restaurant, a full-service spa, a heated pool, several teepee-covered mineral hot springs and more.

The fundraiser event, which features boaters swapping their catamarans and V-bottoms on liquid water for snowmobiles on frozen water, has grown each year, and the 2019 International Snowmobile Rally is expected to be the biggest—and best—one yet.

“Not only do we have an incredible time riding, socializing, eating and drinking, we’ve also set up a college scholarship endowment through the event to do some good while we’re having so much fun,” said Janssen. “The 2019 event is going to feature an Octoberfest-themed party on Friday night and the always-entertaining dinner and awards party on Saturday evening.”
