Brand X Hi-Performance Marine Earns Mercury Racing Certification

Nationally known in high-performance powerboating circles, Brand X Hi-Performance Marine has received its Mercury Racing Dealership certification. The popularity of Mercury Racing’s 300-, 400- and 450-hp engines in part drove company owner Jason Ventura to tackle the Fond du Lac, Wis., high-performance engine and marine accessories company’s arduous certification process.

“We’ve been working on Mercury Racing engines for years,” said Ventura, who founded Brand X Hi-Performance 12 years ago after an eight-year stint at Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats that saw him take on various roles with the Bristol, R.I., company. “We’ve rebuilt, re-powered and installed countless Mercs over time, but to earn Racing’s recognition as ‘certified’ to their specific standards now sets us above other shops.”

Ventura relocated to Florida in 2008 to start his company, which has grown steadily through the years. Initially, he arrived in the Sunshine State to offer complete concierge services for noteworthy high-performance powerboats owners such as Bill Pyburn, Jr., of Jacksonville In the ensuing 12 years, Ventura added services such as metal fabrication for his clients from around the country. In 2016—the same year the company expanded its paint business—Brand X Hi-Performance became a licensed powerboat broker in Florida.
