CMR To Return As Partner-Sponsor For 2022 P1 Offshore Season

Headquartered in the United Kingdom, Powerboat P1/P1 Offshore—an American Power Boat Association member-organization—inked CMR Construction and Roofing as a series sponsor/partner for the 2021 APBA Offshore National Championship Series. Though there is still one race—the Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach event next month in Southwest Florida—to complete in the 2021 series, the Florida-based roofing company already has committed to backing it again in 2022.

Powerboat P1 announced the news in a press release this morning.

“CMR is excited to extend its sponsorship of Powerboat P1 and the STR team,” said Steve Soule, the chief executive officer of CMR Construction and Roofing. “This partnership provides tremendous opportunities for our company to expand its network and deepen relationships with existing customers, partners and staff.”

In addition to a broad sponsorship package that included television exposure for six live P1 Offshore race broadcasts and post-event television coverage on the Bally and CBS Sports networks, VIP hospitality setups at each event, podium branding and additional banners/branding, CMR dressed the Super Stock-class STR team’s 32-foot Doug Wright raceboat in its graphics. The company, which was founded 17 years ago and is the nation’s 10th largest roofing business with more than 500 employees, came to the P1 partnership with significant motorsports sponsorship experience as a longtime backer of the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

But CMR’s partnership with the P1 group was its first sponsorship foray in offshore racing.

“CMR has been a very committed partner this season, and we have been working closely with them to expand their network and deliver tangible, commercial results to meet their business needs,” said Tim Ramsberger, Powerboat P1’s recently named chief executive officer and president of U.S. operations. “As a series partner, they have benefited from our extensive television broadcast and ongoing PR and social media activity.”

Added CMR’s Soule, “Our entire team has a passion for motorsports because we share many of the same priorities, such as drive, technique, precision and speed. Response time is critical in our work, which is why our motto is when speed matters. I can’t think of a better representation of that commitment than Powerboat P1 and STR.”
