Customer Takes Delivery of Lickity Split M35 from DCB

On Monday DCB Performance Boats representatives Tony Chiaramonte and Jeff Johnston hauled the well-documented M35 Widebody Lickity Split to its proud new owner JP O’Donoghue in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and on Tuesday, O’Donoghue got to drive the hot rod he’s been anticipating since ordering the catamaran about a year ago.

With his good friends Brad and Connie Kloepfer along for the delivery, plus Chiaramonte, Johnston and myself, everything went real smooth as O’Donoghue learned a lot about the functionality of his boat and its components, while getting a taste of the attention he’s about to receive in the vibrant 35-footer powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 1350 engines.

As anyone who has seen the boat in person will attest, the paint job handled by Visual Imagination in Missouri (a far cry from the DCB shop in Southern California) is a complete work of art. The interior in the catamaran, which features DCB’s new split bolster seats and beautiful orange and green stitching on the black Alcantara interior, was absolutely off the charts.

“The team at DCB absolutely met our expectations,” O’Donoghue said during his first day on the water in Lickity Split. “Dave Hemmingson builds a beautiful boat so the expectation level was pretty high to start with. Fortunately, since I’m a pretty demanding and picky person, having Dave and everyone at DCB—who are probably more particular and detailed-oriented than me—build the boat worked out great. The attention to detail in the boat is second to none. Everything is just perfect.”

Although O’Donoghue’s matching SportChassis P4XL luxury sport utility vehicle is expected to be finished this fall, that’s not going to stop the Lickity Split crew from heading to a couple of events around the country including the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Missouri at the end of August.
