Eliminator Boats’ Second 25 Speedster Approaching 120 MPH With Twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R Engines

Following the debut of its first 25 Speedster outboard-powered sport catamaran earlier this year at the Desert Storm Poker Run in Arizona, the team at Eliminator Boats is extremely excited about the second 25-footer to roll out of the company’s Mira Loma, Calif., facility.

Powered by a pair of Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines—the first 25 Speedster that Eliminator unveiled during the popular street party at the annual late-April poker run featured twin Mercury Racing 300R engines—the new 25 Speedster is being delivered to Preston Woolery and the team at Horizon Motorsports in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., this week.

According to Jake Fraleigh—the owner and president of the company that was purchased by the ownership group, Revline, LLC, almost a year ago—the finishing touches on the interior was just completed following a day of testing the boat on Lake Elsinore last week.

“The new 25 Speedster is a kick in the pants to drive,” Fraleigh said. “It’s so much fun and the handling is incredible—it’s like driving a little sports car. It’s exceptionally quick, too. The acceleration is out of this world. We hit 118 mph on the lake our first time out at over 6800 rpm so we think the boat should go a little faster with some additional testing.”

Since the April unveiling of the first 25 Speedster, which was delivered to Colton Jones of Big Dawg Custom Marine in Buffalo, N.Y., and reached 112 mph with a pair of Mercury Racing 300R engines, Fraleigh has been anxious to get the new 25 Speedster on the water. But because the company has been so busy with other Speedster and deck boat builds as well as working on the all-new 30 Speedster, which Fraleigh said is almost ready for rigging, the second 25-footer was put on the back burner for a few months.

Fraleigh said that won’t be the case moving forward as the next two 25 Speedsters are in the works—one is in the mold and the other is already out of it. And get this, they’re being built for two brothers whose father used to own an Eliminator.

“It’s a first for me at Eliminator to be building boats for brothers at the same time,” Fraleigh said. “Maybe it happened back in the day before my time, but since I’ve worked here it is a first.”

Fraleigh added that there are some other cool Eliminators currently being built, including the first one for the company’s newest dealer, Legend Marine Group in Carrollton, Texas, as well as a couple of 28 Speedsters with twin Mercury Racing 450R engines.
